Introduction

MEDUSA is a new surface disinfectant, combining bactericidal, fungicidal and virucidal effects. MEDUSA provides a market-first: proven extended surface protection against viruses such as SARS-CoV-2 up to 10 days after initial application.


Surfaces are a major route of infection transmission. This is true in the healthcare environment, in commercial settings and in the home. Pathogens are expelled from the mouth and respiratory tract and transferred to surfaces through coughing, talking, and breathing. In the case of viruses such as SARS-CoV-2, they are carried in the air as microdroplets and later settle on surfaces.

MEDUSA kills 99.9% of viruses and bacteria in minutes and protects against major viruses for up to 10 days.


Laboratory testing of MEDUSA has established that it is effective against enveloped viruses 10 days after initial application. Enveloped viruses are organisms responsible for some of the world's major infectious diseases. Major pandemics in the last two decades have involved enveloped viruses including human coronaviruses (SARS, MERS, COVID-19), influenza viruses (Swine flu), Ebola and Zika virus.

DDAC is effective against enveloped viruses such as Hepatitis B, HIV and Avian influenza A. DDAC contains positively charged molecules that stick to the outer wall of bacteria, fungi, and viruses. Once attached, the long alkyl chain tail penetrates and disrupts microbial lipid membranes, breaking down the cell wall and causing their contents to leak out.

Quantofix QUAT technology

A semi-quantitative test designed for the rapid and reliable determination of quaternary ammonium compounds in a solution. The strips use acido-basic pH indicators that are calibrated for quats and allow monitoring of the concentration of disinfectant is sufficient.

MEDUSA has been formulated with the consumer and the environment in mind. Color testing strips included with MEDUSA show users the concentration of active disinfectant on a surface and help indicate if further disinfection is required.
